Tuvalu, Phongafale Island

Phongafalele is an island in Tuvalu, which is part of the atoll of Funafuti, located in the northeastern part of the latter and is its largest island.

The main institutions of the country are located in Phongafafal: the residences of the government and the governor-general, the only hotel, a commercial bank, a meteorological station, a fuel storage station, a prison, and a post office.
