The Big Ulsan Park is the largest city park in the country, whose territory is 36.4 square kilometers. The park is located in the city of Ulsan, metropolitan city, which stands on the shore of the Sea of ​​Japan, at the mouth of the Taekhvagan River.

Ulsan is the largest industrial city in the country, which is also called the “capital of South Korean industry”. At one time the city was the center of the whaling industry, today the city is home to the world’s largest automobile plant and shipyard owned by Hyundai Motor, and one of the world’s largest refineries.

The construction of the Great Ulsan Park began in 1995, and ended only in 2006. In financing the construction, the South Korean conglomerate SK Group, which was headed by Chai Tae-won, took part.

The park can be accessed from the three gates – Main, East and South. Through whatever gate you enter, just behind the gate in the park is a bicycle rental store, a mini market and a tram stop. A mini market near the gate is the only place in the park where you can buy food. Besides bicycles, you can rent roller skates.

In the park area there are many fountains and small lakes, there is a botanical garden, a zoo, a butterfly house, several playgrounds. Also in the park there is a rose garden, and every year a festival is held there. There is a huge playground with trampolines and a water park in the open air.

Adult visitors will be interested in visiting a sports park, a military museum. In the park there is a monument dedicated to the heroes who died in the Korean War.
