Ecuador, Fernandina Island
The island of Fernardine (the second name is Narborough) is the youngest of the Galapagos Islands. It is a volcanic island and the last eruption of its volcano occurred in 2009.
The island received a soy name in honor of King Ferdinand of Aragon, the wife of Isabella of Castile. The island is inhabited by marine iguanas, sea lions, Galapagos penguins and flightless cormorants.
