Ecuador, Basilica del Voto Nacional

Basilica del Voto Nacion in Quito is the largest neo-gothic basilica in the South and North America. For the sake of collecting money for the construction of this temple in the late 19th century, even a tax on salt was introduced. But still the construction of the temple lasted more than a hundred years, and it did not end, but the cathedral was consecrated in 1988.

The entrance to the temple for tourists is paid. You can climb to the observation deck in one of the towers and enjoy the view from the city and the surrounding area.
